Zenit Youth won the Kalleh Cup with Russia U18

From July 6 to 8, a friendly tournament among junior national teams took place in Tehran. The triumphant team of the competition was Russia U18. Two representatives from Zenit Basketball Academy, Alexander Porotnikov and Vladimir Ershov, participated in the competition.


In the opening game of the tournament, the Russian team confidently beat Iran with a score of 81:65.


Alexander Porotnikov spent 22 minutes and 12 seconds on the court. During this time, he scored 2 points, making 1 out of 6 field goal attempts. Additionally, he recorded 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He had one of the best plus-minus ratings on the team: +10.


Vladimir Ershov played for 12 minutes and 19 seconds. Although he did not score any points (0/1 field goals), Vladimir contributed to the team's success with 1 rebound and 1 steal.


Notably, both Zenit players did not start in the lineup but made their impact felt during the game.

In the second match of the tournament, the Russian team defeated Turkey by 24 points — 77:53.


Alexander Porotnikov spent 17 minutes and 54 seconds on the court. During this period, he scored 10 points, making 2 out of 3 two-point attempts and 2 out of 3 three-point attempts. Alexander also recorded 1 rebound and 1 assist. His efficiency rating was +10.


Vladimir Ershov played for 12 minutes and 1 second. He added 6 points to the team's tally, making 2 out of 3 field goal attempts and converting both free throws. Vladimir also recorded 1 rebound and 1 steal, with an efficiency rating of +3.

Zenit Basketball Club congratulates Alexander Porotnikov and Vladimir Ershov on their successful performance as part of the U18 Russian National Team at the Kalleh Cup tournament and winning the another international trophy in their careers. Last year, both U16 basketball players won the IX Russian-Chinese Youth Games in Chongqing.
