Zenit — 2024/25

It was a landmark season for the blue-whites, marked by the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Zenit BC founding. Before the season began, the team’s roster underwent significant changes, but the team chemistry started delivering results right away. During the off-season, Zenit lifted the Kondrashin and Belov Cup for the fourth consecutive time and also claimed the bronze medals of the VTB United League Supercup. In the championship, often overcoming challenges and injuries, Zenit finished as the winner of the regular season. At the end of the season, head coach Xavi Pascual was named Coach of the Year, and forward Dwayne Bacon was honored as the tournament MVP. In the playoffs, the St. Petersburg team confidently defeated PARMA in the opening round and, in the semifinals against Lokomotiv Kuban, set a new league record by extending their winning streak to 25 consecutive games. The series against the Krasnodar team went to a decisive seventh game, in which Zenit clinched victory with a 4-3 series score. However, in the final against CSKA, Xavi Pascual’s team fell short, losing the series 2-4 and, for the first time, finished as silver medalists in both the VTB United League and the Russian Championship.
