Neno Dimitrijevic: "We have time to improve"
In an interview with Zenit TV the Blue-White-Sky Blues guard Neno Dimitrijevic shared his impressions of the victory over MBA-MAI (83:69) in the 10th round of the VTB United League regular season. The game against the Moscow team was his first since recovering from an injury.
— Neno, it’s your first game more than in one month. How do you feel?
— Tired right now, but ok, I missed it. So I glad to be back with team, playing competing and helping with that win.
— You played about 25 minutes. Was it difficult because it's just the beginning for you?
— No it's okay. I like to play so I will never complain of playing minutes. I rather play than not play. I will never complain about playing more minutes.
— Nice debut for Luka Samanic. What do you think about his performance?
— Yeah I mean great game for him especially coming in a new team with one practice basically you have to be I think really focused and really want to attack the game. I think he did that and I think he did an amazing job here.
— Really close game tonight. Did you expect such pressure from MBA-MAI?
— I mean they are a great team, they were in the first four, I think they play great. They have a good system, good coach, good players. So we knew it's going to be a tough challenge but I think we kept focused. We stayed together, we played some good defense in the key moments and yeah we got the win.
— But in your opinion what was key tonight?
— I mean I think in the end we got some important stops, we played smart that I think we should get better at playing smart knowing when we have to attack, who we have to attack. But it's okay because it's still early, we have time to improve this and I think we're gonna get better at this for sure.
— You know some fans have analyzed your social media and they concluded that you are in a really good relationship with Luka. Is it true and where did you get committed with him?
— Yeah I mean I know him because when I was in Barcelona youth he was in Barcelona youth. But you know with Balkan people like whatever we are so few in like in foreign countries. We always try to keep in touch so yeah during the years we kept in touch with social media but yeah that's hopefully we can even improve the relationship.
— Please say a few words to Zenit supporters who were really worried about your health during this period.
— Yeah I appreciate the worries but hopefully now I'm back and hopefully till the end of the year I will be present all the games. Again thanks for the support also tonight, it was key for us.
