Dmitry Uzinskiy: “We need to approach tomorrow’s match with a clear head”

September 8, 2025

Zenit forward Dmitry Uzinskiy shared his impressions after the victory over Dynamo Primorye (104:63) in the Kondrashin and Belov Cup semifinals.

— Dmitry, congratulations on the win. How does it feel to play at the CSC Arena now as a Zenit player? Is it a completely different feeling?

— Yes, it’s nice. But I won’t hide it, I felt a bit nervous before the start. After all, there are new fans, a new team. It went well, so the overall impression is only positive.

— What was your takeaway from Dynamo’s performance, and do you think they would have a chance in the VTB League?

— Everyone has a chance. Right now, everything is still in the stage of team formation and development, so it’s too early to say anything definitive. Otherwise, it’s a good team. At some point, we turned the game around, pulled ahead, made some tough shots, which is why the score ended up like this.

— Did you feel anything special stepping onto the court today? After all, this is your hometown team from Vladivostok.

— When I was there, Dynamo didn’t exist yet; it was Spartak at the time. Still, yes, some people are familiar. Not really, because once you’re on the court, you focus only on yourself and your game, so there weren’t any particular emotions or special feelings.

— Pavel Zemskiy scored his 100th point in today’s match with a three-pointer. Neno expects sushi from him, but what do you expect from Pasha?

— The more it is put down, the more we will be happy.

— Ahead is the final against UNICS. What kind of game do you expect tomorrow?

— I think it will be tough on defense. They always emphasize strong defense, and their offense is built individually. The team runs well, so it will be difficult. We need to recover now, let go of our emotions, and approach tomorrow with a clear head to show our level.

— The X-factor in tomorrow’s game could be the St. Petersburg fans. It would be great if you could address them.

— Dear fans, we’re waiting for you tomorrow at the CSC Arena at 19:30. We are playing against UNICS. Your support is very important to us!
