Alexander Porotnikov named February MVP in the VTB United Youth League
Zenit U21 guard Alexander Porotnikov was named to the symbolic five and recognized as the MVP of the month in the VTB United Youth League for February. For the player of the Basketball Academy, this is already his second individual award in the 2025/26 season — he was previously named MVP in November.
In February, the Blue-White-Sky Blues played 8 regular-season games, all of which ended in victories. Porotnikov participated in every match for the Saint Petersburg team, averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 25.5 efficiency rating per game.
In the home game against Uralmash-2, the guard recorded his first triple-double in the Youth League — 16 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, along with one steal and one block.
At the end of the month, Zenit U21 holds 2nd place in the standings, entering the league break on a ten-game unbeaten streak.
Congratulations to Alexander on the award, and we wish him a strong finish to the season!
