Zenit players had a phygital basketball match with pupils of Gazprom School St. Petersburg
On Friday, November 22, players from the Zenit Basketball Academy — Nikolay Sevastyanov, Danil Razumniy, Leonid Firsov, and Daniil Kharlamov — visited the Gazprom School St. Petersburg and held a master class for the students. As part of a friendly phygital match, the pupils had the chance to compete against the basketball players in a cyber-arena and gain experience on the court.
First, the Zenit players and the students tested their skills in virtual basketball by holding a mini-tournament in the cyber-classroom. Afterward, the gaming console was swapped for the school gym. The Academy players and the school’s pupils divided into teams: the match with the 8th-grade students followed 3x3 basketball rules on a half-court, while the game with the 11th-grade students took place on a full court and ended in a friendly 12:12 tie.
We wish the pupils of the Gazprom School St. Petersburg success in sports and encourage them to keep reaching for their dreams!
