Dmitry Uzinskiy joins Zenit
Zenit has signed a contract with Dmitry Uzinskiy. The agreement with the 32-year-old Russian forward runs through the end of the 2025/26 season.
Dmitry Uzinskiy was born in Blagoveshchensk. In 2009, he was invited to join the youth team of Spartak Primorye, where he began taking his first steps toward a professional sports career. By 2012, Dmitry had already made his debut for the main team. With the Vladivostok club, the forward became a silver and bronze medalist of the Super League and twice claimed bronze in the Russian Cup.
In the 2015/16 season, Uzinskiy won the Super League championship with Sakhalin, after which he moved up to the VTB United League.
From 2016 to 2019, Dmitry played for Nizhny Novgorod. Over three full seasons with the Volga club, he gradually became a key player, gaining more and more playing time and frequently starting games. With the Nizhny Novgorod team, the forward reached the finals of the Russian Cup twice.
In the summer of 2019, Uzinskiy transferred to UNICS Kazan, where he also spent three seasons. During that time, he earned bronze and silver medals in the VTB United League and the Russian Championship, won bronze in the Supercup, reached the EuroCup final in the 2020/21 season, and made his debut in the EuroLeague.
Uzinskiy’s most recent club was Lokomotiv Kuban from Krasnodar. The Russian forward joined the railroaders in 2022 and soon became team captain. With Loko, Dmitry reached the VTB United League final and became a Supercup silver medalist. At that time, the Krasnodar team was led by Zenit's current head coach, Aleksander Sekulic.
In the 2024/25 season, the forward played 51 games in the regular season and playoffs, averaging 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 0.4 assists in 12 minutes per match.
The Blue-White-Sky Blues welcome Dmitry to St. Petersburg and wish him great victories and trophies — together with Zenit!
