Egor Ryzhov: "I would like to get a foothold in the main team, help to get results and become stronger"
— We are glad to welcome you after a long off-season. Can you tell us, please, how did you spend the summer?
— I had a great summer, I trained. I trained almost all the time in Moscow, in China, in St. Petersburg and had a little rest.
— If it is not a secret, what exactly did you work on in China? What impressions and emotions did the country leave you with?
— I worked on the development of my skills, on the mental component, if I can put it that way. Impressions are interesting. A new experience, a new country, it was the first time I was there, so it was very different from what I was used to. But I am glad I went.
— Nowadays there is a trend among students to learn Chinese. Have you already started?
— Well, no. Of course, I learnt a few words to understand and answer something, but no more than that.
— What goals do you set for yourself in the coming year?
— I would like to get a foothold in the main team, help to get results and become stronger.
— Did you manage to watch the matches of the Olympic basketball tournament? Unfortunately, the Russian national team was not there, but did you see something, did you see something, including the performance of Serbian basketball players?
— Yes, I watched the Olympics, I watched the matches, I really liked the semi-finals and, in fact, the games for third and first place. The Serbian team showed a very decent game. We probably didn't expect such a result from them, but they looked very good.
— The upcoming season is special for Zenit, the club will celebrate its 10th anniversary this Sunday. You have been in the system of the blue-whites all your life. Tell us what this club means to you, to your family and what do you wish the fans?
— I have been in the system of Zenit all my professional career and I am happy to celebrate such a round date. I would like to congratulate the club and all its participants, all the people who help, the players. And to say a big thank you to the fans, those who watch and support. It is all of great importance.
