Zenit and Sergey Karasev extended agreement for 3 years

June 20, 2024
Native Petersburger Sergey Karasev will continue to play for the blue-whites. The new agreement with the Russian forward is set for 3 years — until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Together with Zenit, Sergey has won eight trophies: for the first time in his career, he became the VTB United League champion, the champion of Russia, and the National Cup winner. He also won the VTB United League Super Cup twice and the Kondrashin and Belov Cup three times.

Karasev is also the absolute record holder of the club for the number of games played (272), points scored (2873), and steals made (238).

Sergey was one of the main heroes of the past season. The blue-white’s coach, Xavi Pascual, particularly noted, "Karasev is the kind of player who gives his all, whether he is injured or not, he always tries to help the team. His character is incredible".

In the 2023/24 season, Sergey participated in 47 VTB United League matches, 42 times in the starting five. The forward's average statistics were 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 26 minutes on the court. In the Russian Cup, Karasev played 6 games, averaging 10.8 points, 3 assists, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 steals.

Zenit Basketball Club congratulates Sergey Karasev on extending his contract and wishes him continued glorious victories as part of the blue-whites!
