Xavier Moon: "I hope I’ll be back next season"
— After your return to St. Petersburg, did you feel how much the fans truly love you?
— 100%. I definitely missed being here the last 4 or 5 months. And I definitely felt the love when I got back. So that was nice to see, nice to feel.
— Be honest, what emotions did you experience when you realized you couldn’t help the team in the playoffs?
— Man, it's tough. Not being able to play. Obviously, I've been playing the game my whole life, so not being able to help my team out, it was tough watching it. But I'm proud of the guys, man, proud of the way we fought, and hopefully I can be back next season.
— Did you want to put on a jersey and run out onto the court?
— Absolutely! A couple of times I did, but like I said, man, just trying to get back healthy, get ready for the start of the season next year and hopefully I'll be back.
— This is your first experience in Russia. What impressed or surprised you most?
—The snow. A lot of snow. But I love the city. The city is beautiful. I love the fans, the team, the organization, my teammates. So everything great to say about Russia.
— You have recently created account on Instagram*. Why did you finally decide to do this?
— I've been off Instagram* for a while, man, so I felt like it was time for me to get back on. Just needed some time away, but I'm back on Instagram now, so the fans can follow me and follow me as I get ready to recover.
— How would you assess the season’s closing and meeting with the fans?
— I mean, I love stuff like this, giving back to the fans. The community make up most of the fans in the stands, so we look forward to seeing the fans every game, and hopefully next season is just as good as it was this year.
— And just to officially close this season, please pronounce your favorite Russian idiom.
— My favorite Russian idiom? My ne lykom shity (In Russian, this is an idiom that means that you are not as simple as you seem, and you will not yield to others)!
