The results of the VTB United League Council
June 14, 2024
On Friday, June 14, the Council of the United League was held in Moscow, which was attended by Zenit BC CEO Alexander Tserkovny and First Deputy Director Valery Malafeev. Several important changes to the tournament regulations were adopted at the meeting, namely:
In the 2024/25 season, 12 teams will participate in the championship, as Minsk and Runa Moscow withdrew from the participants. This led to a change in format: now the regular season will be held in four rounds, each team will play 44 matches. For fans, this is an opportunity to watch the top teams visiting Zenit not once, but twice before the playoffs.
The MBA will now be called the MBA-MAI, and Astana will be able to sign three Russians who will not be considered foreigners.
In addition, at the Council, the league again recognized Zenit as the most environmentally friendly Club, this happened for the third time in a row. We are glad that together with the fans we are making this planet cleaner!
