Uralmash vs Zenit. Preview

February 18, 2026
A week after the head-to-head match in the WINLINE Basket Cup, the Blue-White-Sky Blues will face Yekaterinburg’s Uralmash again — this time away, as part of the VTB United League. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the 28th round of the regular season.

Opponent

And things are going quite well for the opponent. Since Anton Yudin was appointed head coach, Uralmash has a 4-2 record in the VTB League, and thanks to a recent victory over Zenit (67:81), they are still in the running for the Final Four in the domestic Cup.

The previous head-to-head match showed just how dangerous the Ural team can be on both ends of the court. Last Thursday, Yekaterinburg looked more confident both offensively and defensively. Notable stats include their two-point accuracy (67.6%) and rebounds (37 — 10 more than Zenit).

We have no doubt that after that defeat, a thorough analysis and correction of mistakes were conducted, and tomorrow we’ll see a different game.

Head-to-head

The upcoming match will be the 14th meeting between Zenit and Uralmash in the VTB League — so far, the St. Petersburg team leads with a 10-3 record.

Zenit head coach Dejan Radonjić commented ahead of the trip to Yekaterinburg:

We had some time for the practice. We used every practice to improve some things defensively, offensively. For the next game, of course, most important for me will be to play much better than what we did last game against them. So we need to be very, very focused defensively, offensively. Defensively to do a lot of good things, basic things especially, and offensively, like I said before the last game, to read the game.

Who. Where. When.

Opponent: Uralmash
