Zenit-2 falls to Barnaul in the clutch
Zenit-2 lost to Barnaul on the road in the Round 19 game of the FONBET Super League regular season. Throughout the contest, the lead kept changing hands, but the decisive stretch went to the home side, who secured a 77:73 victory. Here’s a closer look at today’s matchup.
The game tipped off at an intense pace. Midway through the first quarter, Zenit managed to build a six-point lead, but Barnaul immediately responded with a 12:0 run of their own. Although the hosts controlled the early stages, the Blue-White-Sky Blues tightened up defensively as halftime approached (allowing just 10 points in the second quarter) and took a solid 38:31 lead into the break.

After halftime, the game continued in a back-and-forth fashion. However, as the matchup neared its climax, the momentum shifted to Barnaul. In the final minutes, Zenit-2 had chances to send the game into overtime, but their attempts fell short.
The top performers for our team today were Ivan Prokopenko (15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), Mikhail Dulkay (14 points, 10 rebounds), and Vladislav Samukhin (10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal).
On February 17, the Blue-White-Sky Blues will host Temp-SUMZ Revda at home. The game will take place at the Zenit Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12) and tip off at 19:00 St. Petersburg time. We look forward to seeing you at the arena — admission is free!
