Andrey Vorontsevich: "I like how Uralmash is playing this season"
Zenit forward Andrey Vorontsevich shared his expectations for the upcoming home game against Uralmash, which will take place tomorrow, April 6, at the CSC Arena. The player spoke about how the team recovered after two overtimes in the recent game against MBA-MAI and also noted the high level of play shown by the team from Yekaterinburg.
— Were you able to fully recover after five quarters played in Krylatskoye?
— Of course, not 100%, but we understand that our schedule is tight — and it’ll only get tougher in the playoffs. But that’s our job. Naturally, we had shorter practices, and the focus now is mainly on recovery. I think we’ll be fully prepared for tomorrow’s game.
We’re getting ready for our opponent because Uralmash has been playing solid basketball this season, and the team is on a good level. When talking to their coach, I told him directly that I respect the way they work and the roster they’ve built. I really like how Uralmash is playing this season, but at the same time, we need to play our game, show what we’re capable of, and give it our all — because tomorrow’s game won’t be an easy one, that’s for sure.
— Only two home games left. What would you like to say to the fans?
— I have no doubt in our fans — that they’ll come to support their favorite team. So guys, thank you for being there, for your support, for always standing by us in both good times and difficult ones. We’re moving forward together. Let’s go, Zenit!
