Andrey Vorontsevich was born on July 17, 1987, in Omsk, Russia. His professional career began in 2005 when he joined the basketball club Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. Soon, Vorontsevich moved to CSKA Moscow, where he spent the next 14 years from 2006 to 2020.
At CSKA, Andrey achieved numerous successes, including three Euroleague titles (2008, 2016, 2019) and nine VTB United League championship titles. Throughout his career at CSKA, Vorontsevich became one of the key players, known for his high scoring, reliable defense, and leadership qualities. He also became the record holder for the most matches played for the club.
With the Russian National Team, Vorontsevich won bronze medals at the 2011 European Championship and the 2012 London Olympics.
From 2021 to 2024, the forward played for Pari Nizhny Novgorod and UNICS. With Kazan, Andrey became the VTB United League champion and vice-champion.
In the summer of 2024, Andrey Vorontsevich joined Zenit.
