Andrey Vorontsevich: "We played against a serious opponent"
Zenit forward Andrey Vorontsevich commented on the team's away victory over MBA-MAI (84:88).
— How much did you expect that you would go into two overtimes with MBA-MAI?
— Honestly, it was expected because our coach warned us: if we played defense like that, this outcome was possible. Of course, we missed a lot of shots. But we have to understand that today we played against a serious opponent. I want to say that it feels like people are overlooking the work of MBA and their coach, Vasiliy Nikolayevich. That’s actually a bit upsetting for me. Yes, of course, everyone is used to seeing top teams winning by "+30" against everyone. But this is basketball, and that’s what makes it interesting for us, in my opinion. Of course, we’d prefer not to end up in such nerve-wracking, "heart attack-inducing" finishes, as people like to say. But in the end, a win is a win.
