Zenit farm team awaits the second game against Novosibirsk
Zenit-2 is preparing for the second quarterfinal match of the Fonbet Super League against Novosibirsk. The first game of the series ended with a confident victory for Oliver Popovic's team, with a score of 91:76.
The match, which started relatively evenly, was turned around by a powerful run led by Zenit-2 guard Daniil Aksenov. With sharp three-point shots, he secured a "+13" advantage for his team even before halftime. In the second half, the blue-whites extended their lead even further. However, in the final quarter, the visitors launched a comeback attempt, which, fortunately for Zenit-2, did not succeed.
As the head coach of Zenit-2 mentioned after the game, the team relaxed and neglected their defense after gaining a significant lead. The mistakes made at the end of the game will serve as a valuable lesson in preparation for the second match.

The most dangerous Novosibirsk's player in the previous game was guard Dmitry Makeev, who recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Additionally, the visitors’ captain was exposed to 4 fouls and attempted 11 three-pointers, successfully making 4 of them.
This victory not only put Zenit-2 ahead in the quarterfinal matchup but also allowed the St. Petersburg team to surpass Novosibirsk in their head-to-head history in the Fonbet Super League for the first time — now holding 4 wins compared to the Siberians’ 3.
The second game will take place tomorrow, April 2, at the Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12). The match will start at 18:00 St. Petersburg time. Admission for fans is free. The broadcast will be available on the Russian Basketball Federation website.
