Okaro White: "We had the resilience to come back in the game"

Blue-whites forward Okaro White, in a conversation with Zenit TV, shared his thoughts after the victory in Yekaterinburg. The match against Uralmash ended with a score of 67:81 in favor of the St. Petersburg team. In that game White scored 17 points, and also completed 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

— Okaro, congrats with that win. You know, some might say that we all made no conclusions because of the beginning of the first quarter. What happened in the beginning of this game?

— Oh, you know what, I just think they came out to play well. They always play, even when I was on Loko last year, they play well here. They have a good fan base, good city and they come out and play well. They came out and played tough and they got us down. But, you know, we had the resilience to come back in the game.

— What should we do to avoid such a beginning in Krasnoyarsk?

— Just be a little focused. That's another team who play well at home. You know what, I'm 32 years old, so we won the last 14 games. To me, at this point, we just got to find a way to win. No matter if we get down 30 and we could come back, we've got to find a way to win. But it does make sense to help yourself not get down early. So we've just got to match energy. We can't let, you know, other teams have more energy than us to start the game.

— Two final minutes of the third quarter were crucial. What did Xavi tell you?

— We basically started exploring weaknesses, that's all. We were running just a couple of plays but we just stayed focused and we knew this was a big win for us.

— Do you already think about CSKA?

— No, next we got Enisey, a tough, tough trip. It's going to be a tough trip, four-hour difference. So we got to focus on that game because they played well at their house.
