November 19, 2024
The Russian U16 men's National Team has started its training camp at GoPark in the Moscow region. At the end of the training camp, which will last until November 26, it is planned to hold several friendly matches.
Since June of this year, the cadet National Team has been led by Zenit U21 head coach Roman Knyazev. The team’s staff also includes Yaroslav Zarovnyatnykh, a strength and conditioning coach from the blue-whites youth squad.
Eighteen players were invited to participate in the training camp. Among them are Zenit-2009 forwards Alexander Alekseev, Ivan Borokhov and Artem Grazhdanov.
Roman Knyazev, head coach of the Russian U16 National Team:
It's always nice to go to the national team's location, as we have to work with the best players in the country. This time we called the guys who did not take part in training events in the summer, which indicates a large number of talented guys in our country. For the guys from Zenit U21, it will be a great chance to take a short break from me and focus on improving their individual skills. I am confident they will approach it professionally.
