Zenit Youth team hosts PARMA-M

In the coming days, the youth team of Zenit will play against PARMA-M twice. The blue-whites team continues its series of home matches, which has so far lasted without a single defeat — Roman Knyazev's team has four consecutive victories at the start of the season.

During the preseason preparations, the Perm youth team already visited St. Petersburg. The Ural team played a friendly match against Zenit-2 (88:53) and fully opened their season during the preliminary stage of the Russian Cup in September. In the group stage of the tournament, PARMA-M lost to Tobolsk's Neftekhimik (70:84) but defeated TSK-URAL — UrGUPS (61:60) and Enisey-2 (87:55).

By a fortunate coincidence, the first matches of the season in the VTB United Youth League for the Perm team were again against the Krasnoyarsk team on their home territory. Both games, just like in the Cup, ended with a confident victory for the guests. However, the trip to MBA-MAI-Junior was not as successful — two defeats.

In the entire history of Zenit U21, they have faced the Perm team in the Youth League 34 times, winning 26 of those matches.

The head coach of the youth team, Roman Knyazev, spoke about the matchup against PARMA-M:

We continue our series of home games. We are facing a strong opponent who has received a player from the main team as a reinforcement. This fact will undoubtedly serve as additional motivation for our guys. During the break, we managed to analyze their strengths, and we will do everything we can to neutralize them.

The matches will take place on October 17 and 18 at the Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12). Both games will start at 17:00 St. Petersburg time. Admission for all fans is free. The broadcast will be available on the VTB United Youth League website.
