Thank you for the season!

June 12, 2026

Another sports year has come to an end, and it is time to sum up the results of this challenging season, filled with changes and trials, but at the same time bright and memorable. It began for the Blue-White-Sky Blues with a victory in the Kondrashin and Belov Cup, which has received official status, as well as silver medals in the VTB United League Superсup.

Throughout the year, Zenit’s main team competed in two tournaments. In the first-ever WINLINE Basket Cup, the St. Petersburg side reached the home Final Four. In the VTB United League regular season, the Blue-White-Sky Blues finished in third place, and Georgy Zhbanov was named Defensive Player of the Year.

In the playoffs, Zenit, after a hard-fought quarterfinal series against Uralmash (3-1), stopped one step short of the final, losing 3-4 to Kazan’s UNICS in the semifinal series. The third-place series against Lokomotiv Kuban ended 2-3 in favor of the opponent.

Traditionally, attention was also drawn to the club’s reserve teams — the squads of the Blue-White-Sky Blues Basketball Academy. Zenit U21, coached by Roman Knyazev, won the regular season for the first time and became champions of the VTB United Youth League for the third time. Zenit-2 concluded its campaign in the FONBET Super League play-in round, but made a strong impression in the Gazprombank Russian Cup, competing on equal terms with team from the top division. Zenit U19, Zenit-2009, and Zenit-2010 teams represented the club with dignity in the Children's Youth Basketball League, while the St. Petersburg Zenit Academy successfully debuted in the WINLINE Russian 3x3 Basketball Championship.

Thank you to everyone who stood by the team throughout this time, and see you in the stands next season!
