Address from Zenit Basketball Club CEO Alexander Tserkovny
May 30, 2026
Zenit Basketball Club CEO Alexander Tserkovny addressed the Blue-White-Sky Blues fans following the conclusion of the VTB United League semifinal series and the recent changes within the team.
Dear fans! A very difficult season for all of us is coming to an end — a season of major changes and tough, serious decisions.
The semifinal series ended for us in a dramatic and painful way, but the strongest team advances. That makes it even more important now to keep our heads up, clench our fists, and fight for the bronze medals — medals we believe we deserve, but still must earn.
There is a saying that bronze medals are won, while silver medals are lost.
I am very grateful to Dejan Radonjić for agreeing to take over the team during a very difficult moment and for doing everything possible to deliver results. But now the time has come for an urgent reset — perhaps new leaders and fresh ideas that will help us quickly change for the better, unite as one, and in just two days battle a very strong opponent that has had time to rest and recover, unlike us.
Every important decision made by the club is never spontaneous or emotional. It is always the result of deep analysis, collective discussion, and shared responsibility.
I ask for your understanding regarding these changes. Everything we do is aimed solely at achieving the best possible result in the current situation.
And now I want to address all our fans directly. Dear friends, come support the team at the arena, at the fan zone, or cheer for Zenit from your TV screens. We need your support in order to win. We always remember that first and foremost, we play for our fans.
And after the season ends, we will once again have the opportunity to gather in a friendly atmosphere and discuss all the twists and turns of this season at our traditional meeting with the team.
Let’s go, Zenit! For St. Petersburg!
