Zenit FC celebrates its 101st anniversary!

On May 25, 1925, football teams were formed at the physical culture club of the Leningrad Metal Works — the starting point in the history of one of the greatest clubs in Russian football.

This sporting year, now nearing its end, was held under the banner of Zenit’s centenary season and concluded with gold medals, as the Blue-White-Sky Blues brought the Russian championship title back to St. Petersburg.

Zenit is one of the most decorated clubs in Russia and Eastern Europe: now a 12-time champion of Russia and the USSR, winner of six domestic cups, ten Super Cups, and the Russian Premier League Cup. And of course, the club’s history is impossible to imagine without the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup triumphs in 2008.

Congratulations to Zenit FC on this special milestone! The club has begun its second century with another trophy — and even more victories still lie ahead.
