Dejan Radonjić: "The second half was really well"

April 28, 2026

Zenit head coach Dejan Radonjić summed up the victorious VTB United League quarterfinal match. The second game against Uralmash ended with a score of 92:64.

— This is a playoff series, and now the score is 1-1. We did a good job tonight, we played a good game. The second half was really well, on both ends. So, third game is in front of us, we need to be ready for that game.

— In the third quarter, Uralmash scored only 7 points. Can this be considered an almost perfect defensive performance by Zenit?

— We did a lot of good things defensively in the third quarter, but I think that if you would like to play and to win against a good team like Uralmash is, we need to play all 40 minutes. So it's not enough to play 10 minutes. It was good period for us, it's 22 points second half but as I told you we need be ready to play all 40 minutes quite good against them to win.

— How would you rate Luka Šamanić's game after the break?

— I would like to say that the team did a good job tonight, which is most important.

— Unlike the first game, the opponent attempted fewer three-pointers today and was less successful. Was there a specific game plan regarding this situation?

— Of course, we talked about that after the game. They played a really great game, almost 60% for three points. Our focus was also to find a way how to drop down this percentage, especially for three.
