Zenit-2 lose away to Novosibirsk

February 9, 2026

Zenit-2 suffered an away defeat to Novosibirsk in the 18th round of the FONBET Super League regular season. The game ended 92:76 in favor of the home team.

The first half was evenly contested and finished with a narrow advantage for the Blue-White-Sky Blues — 43:45. However, after the break the initiative shifted to Novosibirsk, who put together a strong third quarter and consolidated their success in the final ten minutes.

Mikhail Dulkay, Zenit-2 forward:

I think the key moment was the third quarter. We allowed a 12:0 run, couldn’t score at all, and completely failed in one-on-one defense. We didn’t cope and didn’t commit the necessary fouls in time. Because of that, the opponent was able to turn the game around. In addition, we couldn’t handle Alexander Semenyuk one-on-one — in the first half he completely dominated us in the paint. So I believe the key factors were our defense and our failure to use fouls.

On February 12, the Blue-White-Sky Blues farm team will face Barnaul away as well. The match will take place at the Pobeda sports complex and will tip off at 15:00 St. Petersburg time. The broadcast will be available on the website of the Russian Basketball Federation.
