Farm team twill face Novosibirsk away
Tomorrow, February 9, Zenit-2 will take on Novosibirsk away from home in the 18th round of the FONBET Super League regular season. The game will be played at the Sever sports complex and will tip off at 15:30 St. Petersburg time. Here’s everything you need to know in our preview.
The two teams come into their second head-to-head meeting of the season in quite different situations. Zenit-2 currently sits eighth in the standings with a record of 9 wins and 8 losses. Novosibirsk have played one more game and are in 11th place at 6-12.
The start of the 2026 calendar year has been mixed for Vladimir Pevnev’s squad. Despite a 12-point win over CSKA-2 in the first leg of the Russian Cup quarterfinals, Novosibirsk ultimately failed to reach the Final Four.
In the Super League, the team faced a tough schedule. After defeating struggling Khimki, Novosibirsk then suffered consecutive losses to the league leaders — Yugra from Surgut, Dynamo Ufa, and Temp-SUMZ from Revda. Those defeats had a significant impact on their position in the standings. Only in the most recent round did the Siberians return to winning ways, edging out Kupol Rodniki from Izhevsk at home, 84:83.
A tough matchup awaits, as Novosibirsk are led by guard Colin Dougherty. The American averages 15.8 points per game.
The history between Zenit-2 and Novosibirsk includes 17 games. So far, the home side holds a slight edge — 9 wins to 8 for the Blue-White-Sky Blues.

Zenit-2 assistant head coach Andrey Semenov ahead of the FONBET Super League road game:
Novosibirsk’s position in the standings is very misleading — it’s a big surprise for the entire Super League that the team is currently outside the playoff zone. Novosibirsk are very dangerous at home: they beat Khimki, they beat Izhevsk, whom we couldn’t get past on the road. In general, it’s tough to play in the Siberian capital because of the overnight flight and the four-hour time difference — it’s not easy. Still, our preparation is going according to plan. We’ll need all the energy we can find for this game, because it’s going to be difficult.
The game will be streamed on the Russian Basketball Federation website.
