Zenit U21 defeated Uralmash-2 in both games of the home round of the VTB United Youth League, which took place on February 6 and 7 at the Basketball Academy court.
In the first game, the St. Petersburg team took control from the opening minutes and crushed their opponents by 57 points — 112:55. The following day, the Yekaterinburg side put up resistance at the start of the game. The first quarter of the second matchup was closely contested and ended at 17:15. However, the Blue-White-Sky Blues eventually secured another convincing victory (104:60). Forward Ivan Vasiliev was the team’s top scorer, posting 21 points along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
After the games against Uralmash-2, Roman Knyazev’s team remains in second place in the standings, having earned 30 wins in 34 matches.

Georgy Mordvinov, Zenit U21 guard:
The decisive factor was our cohesive team play on both offense and defense, achieved by executing the tasks set by the coach. Today the visitors came out with a different mindset and motivation compared to the first game. Because of that attitude, they played very cohesively on both ends of the court throughout the first half.
Next week, the Blue-White-Sky Blues will face PARMA-M, with the games also taking place in St. Petersburg at the Zenit Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12). The match on February 10 will tip off at 17:00, and on February 11 at 14:00 local time. Come support the team — admission is free!
