"Deserved win today": Popovic and Prokopenko on Victory over Khimki
Zenit-2 head coach Oliver Popovic shared his thoughts after the away win against Khimki (80:82). The match was part of the 15th round of the FONBET Super League regular season.
— It was an interesting, good game. Even though we had a "+15" lead, Khimki is an experienced team with a lot of good players, and they managed to catch up. True, we helped them a couple of times by making some rookie mistakes. But we are a young team. The ending was tense, yes. We were luckier at the end. I think we deserved to win today. For the first time in history, Zenit-2 defeated Khimki. Of course, it’s nice. I think the players feel the same.

Blue-White-Sky Blues geard Ivan Prokopenko summed up the match. In today’s game, he became Zenit-2’s top scorer on the court — 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist.
— Overall, I want to note that this is our first victory over Khimki. It’s very nice to win, especially against such an opponent. Regarding my own performance — I managed to make all my free throws. From a team perspective, we just played well, and as a result, we were able to secure such an important win today.
