Zenit-2 will play against Dynamo Primorye on home court

January 14, 2026

Tomorrow, January 15, Zenit’s farm team will host Dynamo Primorye at the home court. The match is part of the FONBET Super League and will kick off the second round of the regular season for the Blue-White-Sky Blues. The game will take place at the Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12) and will start at 19:00 local time. Admission for fans is free.

Currently, Zenit-2 is in 7th place in the FONBET Super League standings, with 7 wins and 6 losses. Our opponent has played one more game and is in fourth place, holding 9 wins and 5 losses.

The team from Vladivostok has started 2026 quite well. In the first match of the Russian Gazprombank Cup quarterfinals against CBK, held in Chelyabinsk, Eduard Sandler’s squad won by a narrow margin — 72:71. In the next game, already in the Super League, Dynamo defeated the namesake club from Grozny on the road — 85:76. Considering all competitions, the Primorye team has now gone five matches without a loss.

The season’s leading players for the guests remain their highly productive duo of foreign players. Guard Daquan Smith averages 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, while forward Isaiah Crowley contributes 13.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.

The first-round match in Vladivostok ended in a 91:83 defeat for Zenit-2. However, the overall Super League head-to-head record favors the team from Saint Petersburg — 4-3.

Zenit-2 assistant coach Andrey Semenov shared his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s game.

— What condition is the team in heading into the second half of the regular season?

— We had five days off for New Year’s. That’s enough to stay reasonably in shape while also resting, spending time with our families, and healing some small aches and pains the players always have, which is normal. Plus, we played against Nizhny Novgorod and did quite well; the team is in a good mood, feeling even more confident and believing in their own abilities. Against Vladivostok, we want to get revenge for the disappointing away loss. We’ll do everything possible to win and not let our home fans down.

— What strengths would you highlight for Dynamo?

— First of all, their size: tall power forwards and very tall centers who are mobile, so it will be tough on the boards. Plus, they run fast breaks well, so in offense, we’ll need to return carefully and avoid giving up easy points, which they often score against other teams. And their foreign players really carry the team forward. Our priority is to stop them first.

The match broadcast will be available on the Russian Basketball Federation website.
