Zenit U21 leaves Samara with two victories
Roman Knyazev's team confidently defeated Samara-2 twice during the away tour of the VTB United Youth League, which took place on December 21 and 22 at the MTL Arena-2.
The first match ended with a victory for the Blue-White-Sky Blues with a score of 85:97. The most productive player for the St. Petersburg team was Ivan Vasiliev, who scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
On the second day, Samara-2 immediately showed a high level of competition and took the first quarter; however, during the remaining time of the match, Zenit U21 regained control and won 67:89. The standout players in today's game were again Ivan Vasiliev (15 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block) and Dmitry Filippov (15 points, 2 assists, 1 steal).
The Blue-White-Sky Blues continues to hold 2nd place in the standings, having secured 22 victories in 24 matches.

Artem Trukhin, Zenit U21 guard:
Both games turned out to be very similar to each other. At the start of each match, we made a run, after which the opponent responded with a surge, but by halftime, we managed to establish a double-digit lead. Unlike the first game, today the team from Samara added more doubles in defense, which we weren’t immediately prepared for, but then we adjusted. After two victories in Samara, we are heading to Saratov for the last games of this year against Avtodor-2.
Zenit U21 will also play their last games of 2025 away. The matches against Saratov's Avtodor-2 will take place on December 25 at 14:00 and December 26 at 15:00 St. Petersburg time.
