Neno Dimitrijevic: "We knew it's important to open the game like we wanted"
Zenit guard Neno Dimitrijevic shared his emotions after the home win over Lokomotiv Kuban (98:69). In the recent VTB United League regular-season game, the North Macedonian player recorded his first double-double for the Blue-White-Sky Blues — 12 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds.
— Neno, congratulations on the victory. It seemed that everything worked out today. Share your impressions.
— Yes, it is important win for us, to show that we can win against top-4 teams. It is first win against them. So it is important for us to keep growing, to get some confidence before an important match on Saturday.
— You had a really good run in the first quarter, you had a really good percentage: 2 points, 3 points… Did you expect such a good start against Lokomotiv that ranks in the top-4 every year?
— We wanted to start good. We knew it's important to open the game like we wanted so I'm happy we did it. I think we played great in basketball sharing the ball, getting open shots, getting open lay-ups. So that's why everything went the way went because we were unselfish. We're trying to find the best option and we play with a lot of energy and focus. So if we can continue playing like that, I think we're gonna have a good season.
