Andrey Martiuk: "I invite the fans — we want to make them happy"
Zenit center Andrey Martiuk shared his thoughts ahead of the home VTB United League game against Enisey. The matchup with the Krasnoyarsk team will take place tomorrow, December 13, on the court of the CSC Arena in St. Petersburg. Tip-off is at 13:30. Tickets are available on the club’s website.
— Andrey, how did the preparation for the game against Enisey go?
— The preparation went great. We analyzed the opponent, and now we just have to show everything on the court.
— What makes Enisey strong this season?
— First and foremost, their team play. They move the ball well, they fight hard for rebounds. They impose physical play.
— Is it surprising to you that the Siberians started this season so energetically?
— I wouldn’t say they started very energetically, but they picked up momentum afterward. They’ve put together a good roster and they truly have a great coach. Enisey is managing to show good, well-coached basketball.
— The game will start unusually early on Saturday. Is it comfortable for you to begin at 13:30?
— We haven’t played at this time in a while. I think the last time we played this early was also against Enisey — early for us, but it was evening in Krasnoyarsk. But now we train at this time every day. So it’s fine. I invite the fans to our game on Saturday. I’m expecting the brightest, loudest, and most wonderful support. And we will do everything necessary to win. We want to make our fans happy!
