Trent Frazier: "We did a great job just sharing the ball"
The top scorer in the match against Pari Nizhny Novgorod (102:80) shared his feelings about the home victory. An interview with Trent Frazier — exclusively for Zenit TV.
— Trent, an all-star performance from you tonight. You have 27 points, it's season best and did you get pleasure balling tonight?
— Yes it's always fun when we move in the ball like that. I thought tonight we did a great job just sharing the ball, attacking their weaknesses and just sharing the ball. I having fun out there. I thought it started on defense tonight. We did a good job pressuring them making it tough for them obviously I made some tough shots but we stayed with it throughout the course of the game and offensively was rolling tonight for me tonight.
— Six out of eight from downtown. Did you feel that you need to be on the arc tonight?
— Yeah, I felt really good tonight. I felt the ball felt good in my hand tonight every shot. I thought I had a good look. I thought coach put me in good positions to get those opportunities. Yeah tonight it felt really good. You know the ball is coming out of my hand, my teammates found me in the right spots and you know just execute it.
— Levi and you combined for 52 points. You've got great duo right?
— Yeah for sure we've done this we've been doing this all season I think. I think it starts in practice just being really aggressive you know finding each other in our best spots and he does a good job at that it's just being aggressive every time he can and exploiting the mismatches.
— When did you feel that the game is fully under your control?
— The clock goes 00:00 at the end of the game. I think the game is never over until that clock runs out of 0 in the fourth quarter. That's a good team. They play really hard. Physically, they're challenging. We just got to play through the whole game tough and continue to apply pressure because going up against teams like this, it gets very tough. And I thought we did a good job in the fourth quarter, just closing that gap and making sure we had some space.
— Washington had a triple-double in the previous game. Did it manage to cope with him?
— Yes, for sure. That was our game plan. Make it tough. An offensive threat like that, he's going to score points. We just got to keep hitting him, hitting him for four quarters. And I thought everybody who guarded him tonight wore him out. He was tired. For sure, I know he was tired. Just seeing different fresh bodies and just applying the pressure and defense on all night and I thought we did a good job.
— Do you think that the team is getting rhythm and the form?
— For sure once we get everybody back fully healthy. I think like coach said our engine is starting to get warm a little bit and we're ready to drive that car. We just got to continue to stay with it you know stay together come and practice every day with a mentally focusing just be ready to continue to get better.
— Next game against CSKA in Moscow. What do you expect?
— Rivalry game. We know what type of game it is. I don't know, there's not much to say about that game besides you know the history behind it so our focus is just get prepared for it and knowing we got to come ready to fight for four quarters.
