Andrey Martiuk: "After the break, the opposing team was a bit more aggressive"
Zenit center Andrey Martyik shared his impressions after the home victory over BETCITY PARMA (82:79). In the game, the player scored 19 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and made 1 block.
— How would you assess today’s battle with PARMA’s players in the paint?
— PARMA always plays a very physical game. Especially now, considering the kind of big men they have. It’s really not an easy task to fight for position under the rim.
— In your opinion, why was the third quarter the most difficult one for Zenit — both for you personally and for the team?
— The opposing team was a bit more aggressive and at the same time started to feel the rhythm of the game. We let them catch up a little. The most important thing is not to let the opponent get into the game, especially when you’re in the lead. Mistakes like that lead to tough finishes like this one.
