Levi Randolph: "A lot of turnovers could be part of the problem"
Blue-White-Sky Blues guard Levi Randolph commented on the result of the VTB United League home match against UNICS (77:104). About the game plan, the unsuccessful stretch in the third quarter and the reasons for the defeat — in an interview with Zenit TV.
— Levi, the score was tied before the half time. What happened to the team at the beginning of the third quarter?
— I'm not sure. In the second half I guess they made adjustments. They made shots, you know, in the third quarter that really stressed the league form and then we just weren't able to come back.
— We cut the "-15" deficit up to "-6" points but could not eventually catch up UNICS. What's the reason?
— We have to go back and watch film. We know they're very good team with a lot of great players. Once the lead got to six they were able to make shots again and stretch the lead back out.
— We made 16 turnovers during the game. Do you think it was the key problem?
— Like I said we have to go back and watch film. That probably that's a lot of turnover could be part of the problem. They scored a lot in transition, so something that we will have to take care of for the next game going forward.
— What were you talking about during the timeout when we had "-16" then "-19"?
— Just to continue to fight, you know, try to get stops, take care of the ball, things like that.
— What was the game plan?
— To play hard, play our style of basketball, get stops, play good defense and take care of the ball on offense.
— Would you like to say a few words to Zenit fans?
— We appreciate them coming out to support. We'll continue to fight, continue to get better. It's a long season
