Georgy Zhbanov: "At one point, we started playing more individually and stopped sharing the ball"

Zenit forward Georgy Zhbanov shared his thoughts after the 2nd round of VTB United League regular season match against UNICS (77:104).

— Georgy, the first half was fairly even, but UNICS made a run in the third quarter. What went wrong at that moment?

— At one point, in the second half, we started playing more individually, stopped sharing the ball, and that led to this result. UNICS attacked our weak spots. Unfortunately, we didn’t follow any of the plans we agreed on, and that led to this defeat.

— Today, Zenit had 16 turnovers. What caused this? Was it because players were trying to do too much individually?

— Yes, we need to trust each other more. Only that can lead to victory. On our own, we won’t manage and will continue losing the ball.
