Zenit U21 finish as runners-up in the Federation Cup

The youth team of the Blue-White-Sky Blues claimed the silver medal at the St. Petersburg Basketball Federation Cup, which was held at the Basketball Academy on September 26–27.

On the opening day, Zenit U21 defeated Konstantа G-Drive with a score of 89:68. The standouts for the youth squad were Ivan Vasiliev (16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist), Timofey Vashchenko (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Georgy Mordvinov (11 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals).

In the final, Roman Knyazev’s team fell to Tauras-Phoenix, 73:80. The top performers for Zenit in this game were Ivan Vasiliev (14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist), Georgy Mordvinov (12 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal) and Artem Trukhin (11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist).

On October 2 and 3, Zenit U21 will kick off the new VTB United Youth League season with a matchup against SSOR Lokomotiv Kuban. Both games will be held at the Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12). Tip-off is at 14:00, and admission is free.
