Zenit and Georgy Zhbanov extended agreement for 3 years

Guard Georgy Zhbanov will continue playing for the blue-whites. The renewed agreement with the Russian player is set for 3 years until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Over his two full seasons with Zenit, Zhbanov has claimed four trophies: he won the Russian Cup for the first time, captured the VTB United League Supercup, and twice won the Kondrashin and Belov Cup. Georgy also earned silver and bronze medals in the VTB League and a bronze in the Supercup.

Recently, Zhbanov joined the prestigious Club 100 after making over one hundred appearances for the blue-whites. In the most recent season, he was a defensive powerhouse and delivered clutch three-pointers to secure victories for the team.

In the 2024/25 season, Georgy appeared in 59 VTB United League games, starting 15 of them. His average stats per 20 minutes on the court were: 6.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.2 assists.
