Zenit-2 will play third bronze match in St. Petersburg
The farm team of the blue-whites continues preparing for the next game in the Fonbet Super League bronze medal series against Khimki. The series currently stands at 0–2 in favor of the opponent.
After two matches in the Moscow region, the bronze series is now moving to St. Petersburg. This time, the gap between games is unusually long for the playoffs — a full six days. Such a pause can have both positive and negative effects for either side. We’ll find out the outcome very soon.
Most likely, this break has benefited Zenit-2, as early May was particularly challenging for the team. Some of the players participated in the Final Four of the Youth League and missed the first game of the series, and came to the second with a couple of exhausting confrontations behind their backs. Another setback for Zenit-2 is the temporary loss of team leader Daniil Aksenov. Due to a minor injury, he missed the first game but did play in the second. A few extra days for recovery came at just the right time.

Zenit-2 head coach Oliver Popovic on the upcoming match:
We’ll give it everything we’ve got and do our best to bring the playoff series back to Moscow. In my opinion, we’re playing against the strongest team in the Super League. I invite fans to come and support the guys.
The game will take place on May 11 at the Zenit Basketball Academy (Severnaya Road, 12). Tip-off is at 18:00, and admission is free. If the St. Petersburg team wins, the bronze series will continue until May 13 — the date of the next scheduled match.
