Vanja Drkušić: "Zenit’s basketball team has a very good chance of winning the championship"

Slovenian centre-back of the Zenit football club Vanja Drkušić attended the first semifinal match against Lokomotiv Kuban (106:79) and shared his impressions of the basketball event. In a new interview on Zenit TV, he talks about his favorite players on the blue-whites team and the fight for the championship.

— Vanja, we’re happy to see you at the basketball game. Tell us, what emotions did you feel seeing Zenit live?

— Yes, it was a very good game, very good emotions. I was already at the match against PARMA. I have a friend from Slovenia who loves basketball, and we decided to watch the game.

— We often attend your football matches. Thank you for coming to basketball. How would you assess Zenit’s chances of winning their second championship in history?

— I think, as I see it, the chances are very good. You have a strong team. Also today it was clear — the score difference was big. So I hope they’ll win.

— Which Russian basketball player impressed you the most? And maybe one of the foreign players?

— Of course, Alexey Shved, whom I’ve known for a long time. And number 24 — Bacon, I think. He’s just incredible.

— How do you know Alexey Shved?

— Well, I follow basketball. I know he played here for CSKA and also in the NBA. So I was familiar with him.
