Vince Hunter: "I love seeing so many faces in a crowd"
The blue-whites center Vince Hunter shared his impressions of the 96:66 victory over Uralmash especially for Zenit TV. Read about the progress of the game, the unbeaten streak and motivation for the rest of the season in our interview.
— Vince, it's 18th win in a row. How difficult is it to continue this run?
— I mean we just got to stay focused and continue to get better rolling into playoffs. So every game matters, every game we got to come out and play hard. We can keep building that confidence going into the playoffs and get on the run in the playoffs.
— What's the feeling that this game is like you know friendly because Uralmash is already on the fifth spot?
— No, I mean we can't come out and look at it like that because it have been a close game and we're still trying to sell up first place. We had to take it very serious like it was a derby, like it was any other game with Uralmash which has been tough for us. So we had to just take it serious and really don't play any games or mess around and like I said just to continue to get better within ourselves.
— Your family was on this game tonight and your daughter was watching this game together with Alex's daughter. Are they some kind of maybe friends?
— Yeah, they hang out a lot. Since, yeah, me and Alex, we take them out to eat and go play a couple of places so they can play with each other and get familiar with each other. So I think they're very good friends. You might have to ask them too, though.

— Only two games left in the regular season and what motivates you?
— The championship. We're trying to win. I came close last year, maybe not close enough, but we were in a good fight last year with CSKA and we felt like we were supposed to win and get to the championship. And now that's really my motivation. I'm really trying to get back to the championship and compete.
— Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin broke the legendary record of Gretzky tonight. Did you follow this milestone and do you follow hockey?
— I heard about it. I heard of Gretzky, of course. You know, I'm not 100 percent, but I'm sure they say he's one of the best hockey players. And where I grew up in Detroit, we're kind of big on hockey. We had a very good hockey team for a long time. I'm sure we have some Russian players out in Detroit. So I don't really follow too much, but, you know, I did hear about the record-breaking and, you know, that's big in any sport.
— And a few words to our crowd, to the fans. Are you happy with such an audience?
— Oh, yeah, definitely. Definitely was happy with them when we played CSKA. It was a very good crowd tonight. And we just have to keep the same energy rolling into playoffs. So very happy and proud of them and love seeing so many faces in a crowd. Please come out see us the last the last home game. Then we're gonna have some home games in the playoffs. So let's just get ready. Please come out!
