Pavel Zemskiy: "Our main task will be to stop the opponent and not let them find their game rhythm"
Blue-whites forward Pavel Zemskiy shared how the team is preparing for the home game against Samara. The match will take place on March 5 at CSC Arena in St. Petersburg, starting at 19:30 local time. Tickets are available at tickets.bc-zenit.com.
— Pavel, you recently scored 41 points in two games in the Far East and Siberia. What helped you perform so well, especially in the first game?
— The victory against Vladivostok was very important for our team because we are close to them in the standings. So I did everything possible to win that match, and fortunately, we came out on top.
— How difficult is it to reintegrate into the main squad and work hard in training after such long flights?
— I wouldn’t say it’s difficult because I’ve been working in this mode all season. The most important thing is to keep my body in good shape and recover properly so I can give 100% on the court.
— The game against Samara is coming up. How has the team prepared for this matchup?
— The preparation went well. We analyzed all of the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and worked through everything on the court to minimize mistakes and win the game.
— What strengths of the opponent would you highlight?
— Since they are one of the youngest teams, their biggest strengths are speed, quick transitions, and aggressive defense, as well as fighting for second-chance points. That’s why our main task will be to stop them and not let them find their game rhythm.
