Pavel Zemskiy: "Sergey Karasev’s fantastic performance charged the team 100%"

— Pavel, congratulations on the victory. What do you think helped secure such a decisive win?

— I’d say, first and foremost, it was our energy. The team was fully charged today. We managed to dominate both our own and the opponent’s boards, and we capitalized on fast breaks. Plus, Sergey Karasev’s fantastic performance — he hit 6 of 8 three-pointers today. He charged the team 100%.

— One of the most spectacular moments of the game was your dunk. Was it something you prepared for during practice, or was it spontaneous?

— I’d agree, it was spontaneous. I was just doing my job, that’s all. Got the two points into the basket as needed.

— Your interaction with Egor Ryzhov today was outstanding. Have you practiced anything similar to what we saw — the passes and assists to each other?

— Of course, we’ve been playing together for many years, and we have a strong sense of each other’s movements. That allows us to find passing opportunities and benefit each other on the court.

— Did Egor pre-order burgers for team today, or maybe pancakes?

— He hasn’t ordered anything yet, but we’re waiting for something from him soon (laughs).

— We saw you perform a dance with Trent. Have you been practicing any moves like that?

— No, he made me do it spontaneously. I was completely unprepared, but I had to play along a little (laughs).
