Pavel was born in Moscow but began playing basketball in Israel with the youth team of Maccabi. After returning to Russia, he played for the U20 national team and signed a contract with Triumph. In 2014, he spent half a year with Ryazan and then became a part of Zenit for the 2014/15 season.
