Georgy Zhbanov: “Everyone fights until the very last drop of sweat and blood”
— A tough game that went into overtime. In your opinion, what was missing in the key moments?
— This is the playoffs, the semifinals. It’s hard to say what exactly was missing. Everyone fights until the very last drop of sweat and blood. Today the swing of luck went UNICS’ way, but it’s nothing serious — it’s only 0–1. We’ve still got four wins ahead of us.
— You went 6-of-8 from downtown tonight. What’s the secret?
— There’s no secret. They left me open, I made the shots — that’s it. Don’t leave Georgy open (smiles).
— The series is only beginning. How important is it to reset emotionally and move on from this result quickly?
— Like I said before, when I played here in the Finals, we lost Game 1 to Lokomotiv by around 25-30 points and then won four straight. So I already have experience losing the first game and then taking four in a row. That’s what we’ll be focused on now — those four wins.
