Dmitry Uzinskiy: "A tough series awaits us where everything will be decided by the details"

April 25, 2026

Zenit forward Dmitry Uzinsky shared his thoughts ahead of the home game against Uralmash as the playoffs begin. The first game of the VTB United League quarterfinals will take place on April 26 in Saint Petersburg at the CSC Arena. Tip-off is at 13:00 local time. Tickets are on sale on the Blue-White-Sky Blues' website.

— Dmitry, the decisive part of the season is starting. Have you missed playoff games?

— Of course we’ve missed them. The playoffs are a completely different level of emotion, intensity, and responsibility. This is what you train all season for, so we can’t wait to get started and are ready to give it our all.

— Recently, Igor Volkhin and Pavel Zemskiy joined the team. In your opinion, have they managed to fit into the training process?

— The guys are adapting quickly. You can see they have the desire to work and help the team. With each practice, they understand the coaching staff’s requirements better and are building chemistry with their teammates. I think they’ll be able to fully shine in the near future.

— Our quarterfinal opponent is Uralmash. The team from Yekaterinburg is in good form right now and caused us plenty of problems in recent games. What do you expect from this matchup?

— Uralmash is a very serious and well-organized opponent, especially now that they’ve hit their stride. A tough series awaits us where everything will be decided by the details: discipline, focus, and character. We understand that and are preparing as thoroughly as possible.

— What would you like to say to the Saint Petersburg fans before these crucial games?

— I want to thank the fans for their support throughout the entire season. It’s especially important now. I hope to see the stands full and feel your energy — together we can achieve the result we want!
