Noah Vonley: "I understand my role here"
Zenit center Noah Vonleh answered questions from journalists after the home victory over Enisey (105:81). In the game, the American player recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.
— First of all, I would like to ask about your first games for Zenit. How did you adapt to the team? How do you feel now?
— So just keep progressing game by game.I spent two weeks here. I feel excellent, I feel at home. Yes, there is still a process of acclimatization, but I feel good. And I think that last year I did not play a single game, but this year I feel that I fit well into the rhythm of the team.
— Today there were a lot of points scored, a lot of threes. How do you like this type of games and how do you feel about these types of games?
— It feels good. We go out there, we run our sets. And most of the time when we run our sets and we create openings, it creates a lot of open shots. Guys are confident, they're stepping into their shots, knocking down threes. And you see early on in the game it was kind of tight, but once we started executing and getting some openings, we started making shots and we extended the lead and ended up winning by 30.
— You joined the team excellently, as you score more than 10 points. How do you understand the role that the coach gives you on the parquet? How well do you comply with his requirements?
— Yeah, I understand my role here. Come out, play with energy. I'm in the second unit. Come out, play with a lot of energy. Know the coverages, make it tough for the other teams, opposing guards, extending them out and creating havoc for them. And also rebounding and when I get my opportunities to score, I'm taking advantage of them.
