Levi Randolph: "That's one of the things we talked about all season — starting the third quarter the right way"
In an interview with Zenit TV, Blue-White-Sky Blues guard Levi Randolph analyzed the last away game against Samara (64:113).
— Levi, congrats! How would you rate team’s performance today?
— I think we had good energy started out a first quarter for us. It was a little bit tough, but you know, we were able to pick it up defensively and stretch the lead throughout the game 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter.
— How difficult was it to start the game with the positive feedback as well as for players to get a good chance?
— I think we have a lot of really good players. We have the capability of somebody stepping up every game. We had a lot of guys able to fill in and be able to pick up where the other guys left off while they're not here. I think everybody did a great job today.
— Early in the third quarter, Zenit went on a 13:0 run. What allowed the team to start the second half so strong?
— That's one of the things we talked about all season, is starting the third quarter the right way. And I think we were able to do that today.
— After three quarters, the score was 93−53. Did you allow yourself to ease up a bit in the final period?
— I don't think so. I mean, it's a long game. Sometimes it's difficult when the score gets like that, but you just have to continue to play. Until the clock is zero.
— Games like this, the coaching staff usually gives minutes to everyone. How does it feel to see every player make an impact?
— Yeah, that was big time to be able to see. Pasha and Ilya get in the game, to be able to make an impact, score some points. They work hard every day. They probably do more work than everybody, just being young players and trying to develop. So it feels good to be able to see them get in the game and be able to make an impact and, you know, add some big-time pro games to their resume.
