Vince Hunter: "We've been working for the whole season"

Blue-whites center Vince Hunter shared his thoughts with Zenit TV following the 94:75 victory over Lokomotiv Kuban in Game 7 of the VTB United League semifinal series. In our interview, he talks about reaching the finals, the fans and recovering ahead of the clash with CSKA.

— Vince, congrats, we are in the finals. Share please your first feelings after the final buzzer.

— I'm just very happy and proud of the team. That's what we've been working towards the whole season, to get to the championship and we got it done. You know it took seven games but you know we'll be ready for the next series.

— Are you exhausted?

— I mean pretty much after every game I'm exhausted but my energy will be back just knowing that we are being a finalist playing against CSKA and fighting for a championship.

— Really hot series. Both teams had ups and downs and got wins only at home. Does it mean that fans for the key factor?

— Like I said this what we've been working for the whole season. That's the perks of being in first place, we have home court advantage. We just had to take care of our home court and we was gonna be in the finals.

— How many Games 7 you had in your career?

— Game 7? This maybe is my second Game 7 maybe.

— Which of your teammates would you single out?

— I'm very proud of the whole team, but Dwayne Bacon been playing very great for the whole season. He's been leading us on the offensive end and been taking care of business, so I'm really proud of him and. You know, can't wait to see more in the finals.

— We’ve got a short break though. How do you plan to recover?

— Sleep, ice baths, a lot of ice baths, a lot of getting ready, you know, a lot of treatment with the trainers and stuff, and we'll be ready to go.

— Do you like the speech of Alexey Miller in the locker room now?

— Yeah, I mean, anything with team spirit I'm for, so, you know, I don't know exactly what he was saying, but I'm just happy we made it to the finals.

— We’ve got full house tonight. Say something to our supporters.

— I'm happy to be playing for Zenit. You guys showed us love, showed me love all series. Even when it was shaky, you guys never gave up on us. That means a lot to us, that means a lot to me. And I'm just proud to be playing for Zenit in front of these fans that we have.
