Xavi Pascual: "Today we won the rebound and it was very important for the game"
Zenit head coach Xavi Pascual, in his post-game comments after the win over Lokomotiv Kuban (93:80), highlighted the key moments of the game and assessed the performance of the team's leaders.
— A big thanks to all the fans, they help us a lot, they give us extra energy. It was amazing to play here in our home with such an amazing crowd helping on the team. One game that we won all the quarters, despite the fact that all the quarters we couldn't defense four or five times in a row to close our ring. One game that we shoot less free-throws one more time, but we control the rebound, we were much better in rebound, today we won the rebound and it was very important for the game.
— Why do you think only the home teams have been winning in this series?
— We can say that the Game 4 was in our hands. But happened two thousand things to don’t win. This is the reality. It was incredible.
— Today, Bacon and Frazier were very effective on offense. In the games in Krasnodar, as you said, not everything went well. How did you motivate them before this game? How do you evaluate their performance, and how can you ensure they show the same efficiency in every match?
— The players are not machines and every day is different, you know, it's completely different. Unfortunately, I would like to have one joystick and to shoot the ball and to score every time, but it's absolutely impossible. So just we need to support the players, to help, to try to reach a good spacing all the time and to take good decisions all the time. But one day, for sure both of them today they were amazing, but all the team, as a team we play very well and another game it's going to be different. So we support all the players, hopefully they will play amazing game after the Game 6. But all the team will continue in the same direction.
